Satanism: An interview with Church of Satan High Priest Peter Gilmore

Satanism: An interview with Church of Satan High Priest Peter Gilmore

In the 1980’s and the 1990’s there were multiple allegations of sexual abuse of children or non-consenting adults in the context of Satanic rituals that has come to be known as The Satanic Panic. In the United States, the Kern County child abuse cases, McMartin preschool trial and the West Memphis 3 cases garnered worldwide media coverage. One case took place in Jordan, Minnesota, when children made allegations of manufacturing child pornography, ritualistic animal sacrifice, coprophagia, urophagia and infanticide, at which point the Federal Bureau of Investigation was alerted. Twenty-four adults were arrested and charged with acts of sexual abuse, child pornography and other crimes related to satanic ritual abuse; only three went to trial with two acquittals and one conviction. Supreme Court Justice Scalia noted in a discussion of the case, “[t]here is no doubt that some sexual abuse took place in Jordan; but there is no reason to believe it was as widespread as charged,” and cited the repeated, coercive techniques used by the investigators as damaging to the investigation.

One of the most visible Satanic organizations—though one that was never a suspect or charged in any of the Satanic Panic cases—is the Church of Satan, founded by Anton LaVey. Members of the Church, such as Peter H. Gilmore, Peggy Nadramia, Boyd Rice, Adam Parfrey, Diabolos Rex, and musician King Diamond, were active in media appearances to refute allegations of criminal activity and the FBI would later issue an official report debunking the criminal conspiracy theories of this time.

Gilmore feels Satanists are often misunderstood or misrepresented. LaVey’s teachings are based on individualism, self-indulgence, and “eye for an eye” morality, with influence from Friedrich Nietzsche and Ayn Rand; while its rituals and magic draw heavily from occultists such as Aleister Crowley. They do not worship—nor believe in—the Devil or a Christian notion of Satan. The word “Satan” comes from the Hebrew word for “adversary” and originated from the Abrahamic faiths, being traditionally applied to an angel. Church of Satan adherents see themselves as truth-seekers, adversaries and skeptics of the religious world around them.

On a windy October day in Central Park, Wikinews reporter David Shankbone sat down with the High Priest of the Church, Peter H. Gilmore, who has led LaVey’s congregation of Satanists since his passing in 1997 (he became the High Priest in 2001). They discussed the beliefs of the Church, current events, LaVey’s children and how Satanism applies to life and the world.

American Made, Outdoor Parking Lot Lights Are By Far The Best Luminaires To Offer Your Clients

by f3U9jP ~ August 28th, 2017

By Kimberly Quang

It is always advisable to use parking lot lights and poles that are made in the United States. American made equipment offers a greater variety of optics and reflectors. These luminaires and poles typically have 3-5 year written warranties (some poles have warranties of up to 10 years) that make domestically manufactured equipment a much better investment for you and your client.

Before purchasing equipment, a careful study of parking lot lighting standards in your clients region should be conducted to avoid purchasing the wrong equipment for the project. Dark sky laws are being passed throughout the nation that affect parking lot lighting systems from Coast to Coast. Many contractors work in multiple cities and sometimes multiple states. They may not always have the time to research the details of local lighting regulations. Working with a lighting design specialist can eliminate the need to do so, and it can ensure that the luminaires, mounts, and poles that you propose to your client are already in full compliance with all local codes.

Parking lot lighting design services are the key to achieving compliance with all lighting regulations and client expectations. Lighting Design Software can provide an amazing calculation and rendering tool that can take the raw data of a CAD document and turn it into a three-dimensional model of the parking lot lighting system you are proposing to your client. We charge a nominal fee for this design service, which we deduct from your invoice should you decide to purchase equipment through us.

The advantage of buying parking lot lights and poles through us becomes readily apparent when you consider the fact that the photometric analysis we provide for you pinpoints exactly what you need to install and where to install it to get the best foot candle spread and lighting control for your clients facility. This will help you avoid over purchasing equipment and help you develop a more streamlined, cost effective system for you to propose.

YouTube Preview Image

By matching parking lot lighting fixtures to an advanced design layout, we help you achieve a higher level of precision functionality and aesthetics for your clients.

There are small details that are critical to the entirety of every project, and letting our design team also function as a procurement channel will ensure these details are attended to in such a way that every aspect of luminance, glare control, and light spillage containment has been addressed.

Parking lot lighting poles often play much more of a key role than you might expect them to play in creating a truly superior commercial outdoor lighting system.Balancing foot candle spread with lighting standards can often place a contractor in a procurement dilemma. If fixtures alone are used as the determining factor in creating appropriate luminance, the proposal may wind up being outside of the clients price range because more powerfuland therefore more expensive fixtureshave to be installed.

On the other hand, having access to a wide range of pole heights and pole mounting options allows you to combine elevation and angles of incidence with lower wattage luminaires. This can and does in many cases reduce overall operating costs, because more light can be produced with more sophisticated, lower wattage fixtures that provide superior illumination, visibility, safety, and directional lighting control.

200 candles: Chileans celebrate country’s Bicentennial

200 candles: Chileans celebrate country’s Bicentennial
by f3U9jP ~ August 28th, 2017

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Chile is celebrating its Bicentennial, with several events that have been organized by the government for almost a decade. It commemorates two hundred years since the First Government Junta of 1810 was formed, starting the Independence process, that ended in 1818 after Bernardo O’Higgins proclaimed it.

The Bicentennial takes place on a holiday from September 17th until 21st. Sebastián Piñera inaugurated the official fondas (places where typical food and drinks of Chile are sold; similar to a tavern) earlier on Friday. Piñera also danced a “pie” of Cueca, Chile’s national dance, with Government Spokeswoman Ena Von Baer.

More than 60 thousand people gathered on Plaza de la Ciudadanía (Citizen’s Square) in Santiago to celebrate the Bicentennial. There was a projection of historical images that also contained a message from the trapped miners in Copiapó. A giant flag of Chile (18 meters of height, 27 of width; weighing 200 kilograms) was raised on the square on Friday morning.

Celebrations of the Bicentennial in Pichilemu started earlier this month. On September 2, two thousand people lined up in a formation to create the message “Viva Chile Bicentenario Cardenal Caro” on Pichilemu beach “Las Terrazas”. The message was used to create a postal stamp to be released worldwide. The event was promoted by the Government of Cardenal Caro Province.

Private schools in the city, such as Colegio Preciosa Sangre, prepared events specially for their students. On Thursday, “Fonda Don Vicente Nario” was opened on Preciosa Sangre. Several games were performed there on that morning, including “el emboque”, “ponerle la cola al burro” (to put the tail to the donkey), and others.

Another event on Preciosa Sangre took place on Thursday night, when students recreated scenes of the History of Chile, including: a tertulia featuring Manuel Montt (starred by Luis Rojas); a chingana (a popular tavern); and selected colonial professions, such as the “motero” (person who sold motemei and chestnuts).

The official fonda of Pichilemu, La Bombonera, was inaugurated on Thursday night by Mayor Roberto Córdova, who danced cueca with people who attended the event. According to Córdova, at least 30,000 people have arrived at Pichilemu as of Friday, and it is estimated that another 30,000 will arrive during the next three days.

A great event took place on Pichilemu beach on Friday afternoon. Chilean typical games highlighted the event. People danced reggaeton, Américo’s cumbias and cuecas, while others were swimming. The National Shoe Fair (Feria Nacional del Calzado) was established on Agustín Ross Hotel on Thursday, and will stay in the town until September 23rd. Alicia Grez, who works on a kiosk in the Pichileminian Craft Fair located in front of One Discotheque, said that “sales have been excellent,” and that “[they] won’t miss the possibility to experience such an event like this.”

I was introduced awhile back to blog carnivals. At the time I was overwhelmed with too much information so I didn’t pay much attention to how it could benefit me. If you aren’t familiar with what they are, they are merely a tool that bloggers use to promote themselves and their posts. They are set up so that one site is designated as the organizer and the contributors send permalinks to the organizer that meets the theme of the carnival. Most blog carnivals give you the option of posting to different categories which helps meet your sites criteria. This is great free publicity for bloggers.

German retail giant Rewe to open Penny Market stores in Romania

German retail giant Rewe to open Penny Market stores in Romania
by f3U9jP ~ August 25th, 2017

Wednesday, March 30, 2005 German retail corporation Rewe plans to open several Penny Market discount stores in Romania in the middle of this year. Rewe is mainly interested in opening stores in cities such as Ploie?ti, Câmpina, Tecuci, Foc?ani, One?ti, Craiova, Caracal, Constan?a, Medgidia, Alexandria and Ro?iori de Vede. Most of these cities have populations of below 100,000 people, and Rewe is hoping to take advantage of a market that has not been highly tapped into, since most of Romania’s larger cities, such as Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Ia?i, already have multiple large supermarkets and discount stores.

Rewe also announced that, over the next few years, it intends to open a total of 50 Penny Market and XXL Mega Stores in Romania. Rewe already operates 14 several highly-successful Billa supermarkets throughout Romania, mainly in large cities, as well as 8 Selgros stores. Rewe has previously made announcements that it wishes to expand its Billa and Selgros brands more extensively. The total value of the company’s investment in Romania is around 200 million euro.

Romania is currently going through a retail boom, especially in the supermarket and discount stores area. Large corporations such as Rewe and Carrefour have established very successful branches in Romania, and other retail giants such as Tesco and WalMart have announced their intention to enter the Romanian market, which is the largest in Southeastern Europe.

The mini MAX discount company said it would open three stores in Romania, in April-May of this year, in the cities of Slatina, Târgovi?te and Urziceni. It plans to open up to 100 stores until the year 2010. Meanwhile, Tengelmann, Rewe’s rival, said it would invest 200 million euro in Romania to open 120 supermarkets in the next five years.

New Zealand dollar hits new high versus the United States dollar

New Zealand dollar hits new high versus the United States dollar
by f3U9jP ~ August 25th, 2017

File:New Zealand money.jpg

The New Zealand dollar (NZD) value rose and, for a short amount of time, was worth US$0.7932, the highest level in New Zealand since the dollar was floated in 1985 — 22 years ago.

The value then dropped a little and as of 11.40 a.m. was trading at US$0.7925. This was due to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand announcing that it will intervene next week at their Official Cash Rate review if the dollar continued to rise.

Economists are predicting that the NZD will now go above US$0.80.

The cause of this rise was mainly due to the release of the June quarter retail sales data. The consumer price index data showed that sales increased by 1.2%, instead of the predicted 0.4%. The bigger than expected sales data were mainly due to supermarket, car and petrol purchases. In May, the core sales figures showed a 0.8% rise, these figures excluded car and fuel sales.

Economist correspondents for Radio New Zealand have also said that a weak US dollar is also to blame for the rising New Zealand dollar. Danika Hampton, currency analyst for the Bank of New Zealand, says the NZD is looking expensive and doubts if it will maintain its current high figure.

Michael Cullen, the finance minister of New Zealand, has said that investors will be hurt when the New Zealand dollar does fall. Dr Cullen personally believes that the NZD is currently overvalued.

The Wellington Chamber of Commerce has called for the New Zealand Government to slow down it’s spending. Charles Finny, from the Chamber of Commerce, says this is one of the core factors, more than the oil and housing markets, despite speculation. Worldwide oil prices are at a current 11-month high.

The retails sales figures also resulted in Government bonds being weakened. The two-year and ten-year Government bonds are at 7.61% and 6.82% respectively.

The Official Cash Rate is currently at 8%, due to other interventions by the Reserve Bank.

The NZD is also trading well against the Australian dollar and Japanese yen.

Saudis boycott Danish dairy produce

Saudis boycott Danish dairy produce
by f3U9jP ~ August 24th, 2017

Friday, January 27, 2006

On January 26, 2006, a massive boycott of dairy produce from Arla Foods started in Saudi Arabia over what is perceived as a Danish attack on Muslim values. The Saudi ambassador to Denmark has been recalled for consultations.

The Danish/Swedish dairy company Arla is facing a massive loss after a spreading boycott of its produce in Saudi Arabia. Four Saudi retail chains have already removed Arla products from the shelves. One retail chain has placed yellow warning tape (common fare for accidents and crime scenes) over Arla products. There have been cases reported of Arla delivery trucks being attacked by stones thrown from bystanders. Marianne Castenskiold, a senior consultant for Dansk Industri, expressed a fear that the boycott will spread to other countries in the region and have detrimental effects on other Danish products. Denmark is one of the leading exporters of agriculture in northern Europe, whose economy is heavily dependent on foreign trade and investment.

The boycott has been announced at Friday prayer services in Saudi mosques since January 20, 2006, obviously helping to foment popular support of the nation’s response to Denmark’s alleged ignorance of Muslim values. On at least one occasion, a delivery truck has been greeted by thrown stones.

The boycott is a response to the publication of an article in a major Danish newspaper, Jyllands-Posten. In its September 30, 2005 issue, the paper printed 12 drawings of the Muslim prophet Muhammed, as a response to previous news reports that the publisher of a forthcoming childrens’ book about the prophet had had difficulty in finding an illustrator, due to fear of extremist reactions; drawings of the prophet are prohibited by Islamic Law (see aniconism). In an attempt to start a debate over freedom of speech in Denmark, the newspaper printed 12 drawings of the prophet. Four of these were of a satirical nature, with one showing the prophet with a turban hiding a lit bomb.

The immediate reactions to the publication of the drawings included ambassadors from 12 Muslim countries demanding that the Danish Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, denounce the newspaper. Rasmussen rejected this demand, stating that “Danish freedom of speech does not allow the government to control what newspapers print”. He further noted that the only possible legal action against the newspaper would be one under the charge of blasphemy.

A debate ensued over the following months about freedom of speech and its value in relation to avoiding religious taboos. In mid-December 2005, a delegation from several Danish Muslim organizations went on a tour in several Middle-Eastern and Arabic countries, reportedly to gain sympathy for their point of view. Several reports state that during the tour the difficulties faced by Muslims in Denmark were grossly overstated.

Seo And Politics}

by f3U9jP ~ August 22nd, 2017

Submitted by: Mihaela Lica

From Graywolf’s How to Be a Dirty Digger to Greenberg’s The Saboteurs of Search we learn that online marketing and politics play on similar grounds.

In the real life presidential election campaigns run behind closed doors and their actors often play dirty tricks on each other; for All’s fair in love and war. The final purpose of the game is political supremacy. Power. In SEM… the top of Google’s SERP.

The the search engines can be manipulated is no secret, but most SEOs try a positive approach and define their strategies as ethical or white-hat.

In Aaron Wall’s dictionary, there is no such thing as ethical SEO, because, no matter how you look at it, once you employ a technique (any) to manipulate the search engines, you SPAM. The only question is what kind of spam is acceptable from a Google perspective.

Part of the answer comes from Google’s Webmaster Guidelines (quality guidelines specific guidelines), more comes from Bruce Clay’s SEO code of ethics, and if that’s not enough you could always rely on an answer from authority SEO professionals like the owners of this very blog, and all the reputable gurus out there.

Now back to SEO as a dirty business.

Strangely enough in the real life it is a lot easier to harm than to heal. Somehow supremacy and power are achieved faster through war than peaceful negotiation. No surprise here: peaceful negotiation takes time to find a compromise, which, in many situations, is not what the parts involved hoped to achieve.

SEM is quite similar. For every winner there’s a loser, and many companies that rely on Google for traffic employ questionable SEO tactics to achieve good rankings for their most competitive keyword phrases. But this is nothing compared to those that employ political tricks to harm their competitors. Forbes lists in The Saboteurs of Search two techniques (out of seven): Google bowling and Google insulation.

Google bowling is pure evil and it deals with how to frame a competitor’s site as a spamming site to convince Google to drop its rankings. This type of negative SEO deals with links. Many links at once. These links are generated automatically, over a short period of time, with a special software. They’ll mostly come from bad neighbours and they’ll have the same anchor text, to make the spam picture complete. Google is just a machine, so there’s no real way for this machine to know who is behind the link spam. The guilty site might lose its position in the SERP or even get banned. Some sites never recover after a Google ban, others see their rankings vanishing and their pages landing into the supplemental results and they never learn why. If something like this happened to your site, all you can do is to find out who hates you so much.

Google bowling is not the only negative SEO technique that might hurt a competitor site. Tattling, as correctly identified by Forbes, is something that even Google’s Matt Cutts encourages, by asking people to report sites that buy links. I really wonder how Google verifies such complaints. Basically anyone can assume that a contextual link in one of my blog entries is a paid link (what if I monetize my site with V7 contextual?).

There are many other questionable SEO strategies to demolish competition. I happen to consider them a waste of time and energy. The Forbes article quoted above has a pretty interesting statement: Matt Cutts, a senior software engineer for Google, says that piling links onto a competitor’s site to reduce its search rank isn’t impossible, but it’s extremely difficult. If negative SEO is difficult we are entitled to believe that it happens seldom. I think that, in some niches, it happens quite often. But these are simple theories. As long as I do not have the data to back them up, I prefer to keep my analysis to a minimum of delivering information.

There are simpler ways to harm competition. Scraper sites harm writers by copying their content. And it is not that difficult to understand where the harm lies.

For example, when a scrapper copies the content of your site, your rankings are harmed, especially if the scraper site happens to have more authority than yours. There is not much you can do to protect your rankings and your copyright. But if you decide to report the guilty site to the search engine (file a compliant) the search engine will remove the site from its index for 10 days, to give you (the copyright holder) the time to sue for infringement.

Many bloggers wake up one day to find their articles duplicated on obscure sites, MFA sites and so on. They are often frustrated and they ask in forums the classic: what can I do if someone copies my content. Well, now you have a possible answer: you don’t need to go to court to punish a site for copyright infringement. It is enough to file a complaint at Google and you’ve got the guilty site out of the Google SERPs for at least 10 days. Careful though, a fraudulent copyright complaint can get you in trouble, and not just with the search engines. So don’t just go around filing complaints.

The Google ban theoretically lasts for just 10 days, but the trust rank of the accused site will lower. Another similar complaint and the site’s integrity will be seriously questioned. Just remember: what goes around, comes around.

Listeners call for tattooing of Muslims in America, supporting comedy skit

Listeners call for tattooing of Muslims in America, supporting comedy skit
by f3U9jP ~ August 22nd, 2017

Saturday, December 9, 2006

When radio host Jerry Klein suggested that all Muslims in the United States should be identified with a crescent-shape tattoo,”the switchboard went from empty to totally jammed within minutes.” Some callers agreed with Klein, one saying that, “Not only do you tattoo them in the middle of their forehead but you ship them out of this country … they are here to kill us.” Another caller added that America should, “set up encampments like during World War Two with the Japanese and Germans”

At the end of the show Klein revealed that that it had been staged as a hoax. “I can’t believe any of you are sick enough to have agreed for one second with anything I said,” he told his AM 630 WMAL audience which covers Washington D.C., Northern Virginia and Maryland

“For me to suggest to tattoo marks on people’s bodies, have them wear armbands, put a crescent moon on their driver’s license on their passport or birth certificate is disgusting. It’s beyond disgusting.”

“Because basically what you just did was show me how the German people allowed what happened to the Jews to happen … We need to separate them, we need to tattoo their arms, we need to make them wear the yellow Star of David, we need to put them in concentration camps, we basically just need to kill them all because they are dangerous.”

Council on American-Islamic Relations Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper commented:

The public reaction to Mr. Klein’s courageous parody should be a wake-up call for American religious and political leaders who remain silent in the face of growing anti-Muslim bigotry in our society. Americans of all faiths must come together to marginalize extremists and to challenge ethnic and religious bigotry.
